New Team Member Communications

As a SWAT assaulter, you take orders from your element leader during an assault. However, that is not always the last word. Two-way communication is vital in a crisis, and you have many standard responses to choose from. You can communicate with the leader, or a teammate at any time.

The Response Menu
Your response menu looks similar to the element leader's command menu, and contains many of the same options. Each is explained below. Team Member Communications Menu

Leader
Here, you can communicate with your element leader. The responses you send will be heard by the leader and all other assaulters. The responses you can communicate will vary based on the tactical mode and current command.

Acknowledgement
The first option for responding to a leader's command is an acknowledgement order. Send this response after you've fulfilled the command.

Refusal
You may refuse to obey any command in the event that it is not possible, or there is an immediate danger. Your second option for responding to a command will always be refusal.

Situation-specific responses are listed in a separate section below.

Team
From the team menu, you can communicate with your teammate. If you are on Red Team, this means you communicate with the other Red Team member. If you are on Blue Team, you will communicate with the other member on Blue Team. The command will be heard only by the other team member you are communicating with, and not the element leader.

Know that, in general, team responses are used to determine who will perform which part of a given command. For instance, if you were commanded to Breach, Bang, and Clear, you may communicate with your team as to who will breach, and who will bang.

Performing Action
If the order is a specific action to be performed by one team member, such as restraining an individual or defusing a bomb, a team member may communicate to the team that they will be the one to perform the action.

Standing By
In contrast to the "Performing Action" command, a team member may communicate that they will not perform the action and will instead stand by. This is generally done as an acknowledgement when another team member chooses to perform the action.

Situation-specific responses are listed in a separate section below.

Cover
This menu is always available and static; it will always contain the same commands. The cover commands will be heard by all team members, including the element leader. The commands available are shown below: Cover Menu

Back Up
Requests back up. Use when an extra team member is needed for cover, compliance, etc.

Under Fire
Lets the team know that you are receiving fire.

No Ammo
Lets the team know that you have run out of ammunition.

Report
The standard report menu, identical to the element leader's. Use to keep in contact with the Tactical Operations Center to request trailers or report contacts. As a team member, you can request trailers for secured suspects, hostages and civilians. Report Menu

Area Cleared
Reports to the team that the area you occupy is clear. You may also want to drop a lightstick to mark the area as clear.

Compromised
If a situation turns dangerous without warning, let your team know immediately by using this command. Any command that the element leader issued will be canceled, and if the team is in stealth mode, they will change to dynamic.

Compliance
Like the element-leader command of the same name, compliance is an order to assume a submissive posture. Point your reticule at a subject to issue this order at them. If you do not point your reticule at a subject while issuing this order, a general compliance order will be issued.

Copy
If you wish to simply acknowledge that you have received and understood an order or other response, use this command.
