Single-Player Game-Play Enhancements
Note: All References to Keys Are Default.
Key Binding
Go to the Keyboard Mapping section of the options screen (click the SWAT Eagle in the main menu) to map all of the game's controls, including the keys used to access weapons and tactical aids, new options keys and previously un-bindable game functions.
Rapid Deployment of CS, Flashbangs and Lightsticks
You throw each of these three items to deploy them. While you may still utilize the "charge-up" method by holding the mouse button to achieve the desired throw strength, you can now quickly select a full-strength throw by holding CONTROL while holding the left mouse button down, then releasing the button, or you can select a half-strength throw by holding down SHIFT and the left mouse button, then releasing the button.
Quick Compliance
In a volatile situation, it is useful to be able to quickly order compliance from suspects, civilians and hostages. By default, the compliance command is the middle mouse button. This command is identical to selecting "7 Compliance" from the communications menu.
View Port/Opti-Wand Commands
It is now possible for the element leader to give orders to assaulters through their respective view ports and the Opti-Wand.
To issue commands through a view port: Open a view port and hold CAPS LOCK to bring up a mouse pointer within the port; then simply give commands as you normally would, using the pointer as your reticule. Release CAPS LOCK to leave this mode.
To issue commands through the Opti-wand: Activate the Opti-Wand by pressing the F-9 key. With the Opti-Wand activated, press and hold the CAPS LOCK key, and a pointer will appear in the Opti-Wand image screen. Give commands as you normally would, using the pointer as your reticule. This command method can be used in both single- and multiplayer games.
Reticules
To help you aim and maintain visual clarity in combat, you can switch your aiming reticule type by pressing the "V" key. Pressing the key will toggle through available reticule types.
Aim
Aiming is controlled by mouse movement, whether you're aiming a weapon or deploying a tactical aid device such as a flashbang.
Note that some weapons do not aim as quickly as others. Heavy weapons such as the Benelli or M4 shoot inaccurately after you quickly move the aim point. To acquire an accurate sight picture, take a moment to steady the weapon. Light weapons such as the 1911 or MP5 shoot very accurately even after you rapidly change aim.
Your movement speed will also affect your accuracy. The faster you are moving, the less accurate the shot, regardless of weapon type.
This is both a single-player and multiplayer feature.
Visual Dialogues
Game characters' spoken dialogue can now be displayed as text on your screen. To toggle this feature on and off, use the "D" key. Note that toggling the dialogue text does not affect whether chat messages are displayed.
Stance Changes
You now have three additional stance options to aid you in movement. Press "A" to toggle quickly between crouching and standing, and use "Z" and "X" to lean left and right, respectively, releasing the key to return to standing.
