In the fourth game of the Police Quest series, you play a Los Angeles Police Department detective who must investigate a series of murders. The first body was found in an alley at 3 am, naked, tortured, and mutilated; another body in another alley on another morning in Los Angeles, but this one is more than another statistic. It's your ex-partner.

Former LAPD police chief Daryl F. Gates, whose career includes such notorious cases as the Hillside Strangler and the Manson Family murders, served as lead advisor on the project. Through emphasis on proper police procedure and systematic problem solving, his goal with Open Season was to create a realistic game that would help dispel educate people about law enforcement.

All aspects of the adventure, from the crime scenes to the city morgue, were shot on location under the direction of former America's Most Wanted producer Tammy Dargan. Police Quest 4 features the first use of digital photography in a computer game.
This game is not recommended for younger players.
