Incoming! Strike Force Mod for Tribes 2 under Development
November 10, 2000
Xtreme Gaming, the renowned developers of Strike Force for Unreal
Tournament, announced that they are currently developing a Strike Force mod
for TRIBES 2. Appropriately titles Strike Force: TRIBES 2, this mod will
release shortly after the worldwide launch of TRIBES 2. Among the more
notable features of this mod are:
- 30 real life weapons, ranging from silenced pistols to assault
rifles to sniper rifles to rocket launchers, all of which are used by
today's military.
- New, fully customizable player class and selection system to promote
team combat and a new level of tactics in the field.
- 12 new military vehicles for combat in air, land or sea - use attack
helicopters, armored transports or insertion boats to outmaneuver, outgun or
outrun the enemy.
- All-new player models, animations, functions, sounds, and physics.
"We here at Dynamix are extremely excited at the prospect of 'Strike Force:
T2' utilizing the Tribes 2 engine to make their newest and boldest version
yet," says Dave Georgeson, Producer/Director of Tribes 2. "We expect some
great stuff from this group that has done previous versions of their game in
other game engines. The Tribes 2 engine is very flexible, allowing
indoor/outdoor combat, vehicles, infantry, and an incredibly wide assortment
of weaponry. The special effects, the terrain building, the ability to fight
underwater, weather and storm fronts, as well as the ability to have truly
hostile terrains... all of these things should contribute to an excellent
version of Strike Force: Tribes 2, and we can't wait to see these guys tear
it up."
