Throughout the land of Yamato, players will encounter two other characters that can help them on their quest - the Blacksmith and the Priest.

A middle aged man, given a title for his skill in working with metal, the Blacksmith is a master at his trade. Using a combination of magic and physical strength, the Blacksmith can forge weapons and armor that can stop even the blow of a demon, as long as he has the right ingredients.

The Blacksmith is an NPC that allows the player to create, repair, and upgrade items. Additionally, as the characters advance in level, so too can the Blacksmith. The player will find Technique Scrolls that allow the Blacksmith to create more efficient and durable weapons.

A wizened old man, the Priest will concoct all manner of potions and medicines to allow the samurais to combat injuries, poisoning, curses and revive their internal ki energy. The Priest will also create a number of special potions and poisons, for "nothing fights fire, like fire". Perhaps most importantly, the Priest acts as the healer, insuring the samurai may fight another day. The Priest can also benefit from Teaching Scrolls, allowing him to create more potent and effective potions.
