Many of you probably thought we’d fallen off the face of the earth since you haven’t seen an update on our Designer Diary pages for quite awhile. You’ve been very patient with us this past couple of months. At least now I can break away, catch my breath and bring all you fans back up to date on the project. Yes, Quest for Glory V: Dragon Fire is very alive and very well. In fact, we just released a downloadable version of our Sneak Peek Demo on the website and within 16 days we’ve had over 22,000 downloads.

We’ve gone dark for the last six months, meticulously enhancing and fine-tuning our new proprietary game engine. The team has been adding new features and upgrades, one of them being a conversion from 8 bit to 16 bit graphics. We’ve worked and reworked our animations and 3D graphics, and added to the engine the ability to display exciting new transparent and translucent spell effects, interchangeable and illuminating weaponry, as well as dynamic environmental lighting techniques.

Perhaps the greatest advancement and time-consuming change to our new engine during this time, was the development of polygon technology into our existing engine. The result was a new utility called the Modelizer. The resources generated from this tool allow us the flexibility to have larger and quicker monsters such as the Hydra, Cerberus, Mega Minotaur and of course, Dragon Fire himself.

We just recently unveiled these new features at our recent corporate milestone presentation and everyone in attendance was visibly impressed with our advancement. Kudo’s to the team for their long nights and extra efforts to make this possible. We’ll be featured in the Cendant Software exhibit at E3 in Atlanta. We’re anticipating that myself, Lori Cole (Corey too!), Chance Thomas, Mike Troup and others will be there to show off Quest for Glory V: Dragon Fire to all of you planning to attend. This will be an opportunity to talk to each one of us, possibly pick up a Quest for Glory V: Dragon Fire T-shirt or maybe even a soundtrack, then see for yourself the awesome special effects and game-play.

Be sure to enter our ongoing contests at www.qg5.com and to keep up on our progress, visit the website often. You’ll be enlightened with even more "inside" information during the development of QG5. On with the Quest.
