fan site guidelines

Fan sites will be accepted only if they meet the following criteria. Don't worry, it's pretty easy.

  1. Copyright Information
The site should include the necessary Sierra copyright information (i.e. META tag, copyright text, etc) as found within the Half-Life Fan Site Support section.

  2. Scope
The site must focus solely on Half-Life or one of the Half-Life series games. Websites that follow multiple games or interests will not be considered for inclusion on this list.

  3. Quality
The site must function properly and follow common-sense web design practices. Please test your site before you submit a link.

  4. Relevance
Web sites require regular "care and feeding." Web sites that contain dead links, outdated information, or other signs of neglect will be dropped from the list. Nobody likes visiting a ghost town.

  5. Software Piracy is Prohibited
The site must not include the following: copy protection codes, illegally-copied software, or instructions on how to illegally reproduce copy-protected software. We take a firm stand against software piracy, and will prosecute anyone distributing pirated games. Selling software is how we pay the rent!

  6. Good Behavior
Please refrain from the use of vulgar language, harassment of other users, racial or ethnic slurs, sexism, or slander.

Is your site missing from this list? Be sure to submit your Half-Life fan site name, game series type (i.e. Half-Life, Team Fortress Classic, Opposing Force, Counter-Strike, etc), and URL today.
