[July 26, 1999] - GK 3 Progress Report

We are deep into crunch mode at this point. That means that you will find us here early in the morning and late, late at night (even through the weekends). We are within weeks of having our first Gold candidate, the animators are tweaking a few in-game animations, the environment artists are putting the finishing touches on the lighting of the scenes, and the programmers are madly squashing bugs in the game engine. Once they are done, the scripters will put some final touches on the content and we should be good to go.

At this point, we can definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's extremely exciting for us to see this game in its almost finished form! Every night I go home, feeling very proud of what we have accomplished with this game, and that I was able to be a part of it!

Jane's getting ready to go to GenCon in Wisconson next week. She'll be there August 5-8th, showing GK3, and pre-selling her new novel Millennium Rising.

The next time this site is updated will be to tell you that we have gone "gold," meaning that the game is done, and ready to go into production. And believe me, we all hope that this will be soon!

Design Assistant, Gabriel Knight 3
