SIERRA STUDIOS AND RELIC ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCE HOMEWORLD™ IS TAKING TO THE SKIES
Innovative Marketing Strategy to Entice New Audience of Gamers

Bellevue, WA (September 1, 1999) - Sierra Studios announced today their PC game Homeworld will be featured exclusively on two national airlines on an in-flight 60-second program called "The High Tech Minute." Reaching 1.1 million passengers, "The High Tech Minute" is produced by Southern-California-based High Impact Television (HITV) and can be seen on both Delta domestic and America West domestic flights during the month of September, serving as the only programming of this kind on the respective airlines. Homeworld is due to ship this month to retailers around the world.

"We're always talking about 'out of the box' marketing programs and this was an opportunity we had to seize," said Jim Veevaert, director of marketing for Sierra Studios. "There's an amazing consumer demand for the title - with this in-flight outreach, we are hoping to attract a new consumer…one that is not necessarily reading the gaming trades, but wants a fun game for his/her PC."

Homeworld is the next-dimension in real-time strategy games. The game allows gamers to command a massive starfleet on an epic journey to the heart of the galaxy. Homeworld is a revolutionary step in gameplay and technology, offering 16 missions and two races in cinematic quality 3D environments, along with eight-person online multiplayer gaming.
