SIERRA STUDIOS TO GIVE AWAY GROUND CONTROL: DARK CONSPIRACY
The Official Expansion Free with Ground Control Mail-In Offer
BELLEVUE, WA (October 18, 2000) - Sierra Studios announced today that
Ground Control: Dark Conspiracy will be offered to consumers free of
charge. The official PC expansion, being developed by Chicago-based High
Voltage Software, in conjunction with Swedish-based Massive Entertainment,
will be given away to those in North America with purchase of Ground
Control or proof of Ground Control ownership and $4.95 shipping and
handling. More information on Dark Conspiracy and this exciting offer can be
found at http://darkconspiracy.sierra.com.
"Distributing Dark Conspiracy for free with the purchase of Ground Control
will provide consumers with an added incentive to purchase one of the most
critically acclaimed games of the year," said Marc Tardif, Sierra Studios
Brand Manager for Ground Control and Dark Conspiracy. "The decision also
gives us the opportunity to reward the Ground Control community, which has
been incredibly supportive of the title."
Scheduled for release November 2000, Ground Control: Dark Conspiracy takes
the action-intense experience found in the award-winning, 3D real-time
strategy (RTS) Ground Control, to the next level and offers all new
missions, environments, units, and multiplayer modes.
Ground Control: Dark Conspiracy continues the Ground Control saga, following
the story of Sarah Parker as she battles against the Order of the New Dawn.
Dark Conspiracy will feature 15 totally new single player missions,
never-before-seen environments and terrains, a third faction with new
playable units, and additional Crayven and Order of the New Dawn units and
special weapons. It will also offer new multiplayer maps and modes via
Sierra.com, powered by Flipside.
Ground Control combines classic strategy elements with incredible 3-D
technology previously seen only in action games. It focuses its gameplay on
tactics, strategy, and the art of battle. The end result is greater realism,
faster-paced action, and an unparalleled player experience. Played out
through a variety of missions, players must take control of their
customizable squads of soldiers, tanks, hovercraft, aircraft, and other
units, as they fight for control of distant worlds.
