VALVE ANNOUNCES HALF-LIFE UPDATES
Kirkland, WA (May 1, 2000) - Valve, L.L.C. today announced a number of enhancements and updates
are being prepared for Half-Life, the epic action thriller named Game of the Year by over 50 publications.
The releases will include new Half-Life technology, new Half-Life multiplayer games, updated versions of
popular game modifications (MODs), and new toolsets for MOD authors.
"Continued support for Half-Life has been an important factor in helping us achieve 2 million copies sold
worldwide and becoming the number one action game played online," said Gabe Newell, manager director of
Valve, L.L.C. "This next round of releases will put some of our next generation tools in the hands of
MOD authors, greatly increase the size of our online community, as well as enhance the Dreamcast version
of Half-Life."

Founded in 1996, Valve develops entertainment software. Half-Life is Valve's debut title. Since its release
in November 1998, Half-Life has won over 50 Game of the Year Awards from publications that include PC Gamer,
