Sierra Studios™ Announces SWAT™ 3: SPECIAL EDITION
Redesigned Web site Launched to Include New Information on SWAT 3 Franchise

BELLEVUE, WA (February 28, 2000) - Sierra Studios today announced that their award-winning, first-person tactical simulation, SWAT™ 3: Close Quarters Battle™, will now offer gamers the best of both the single and multi-player worlds in SWAT™ 3: SPECIAL EDITION. Scheduled to ship August 2000, SWAT 3: SE, takes the next step in this distinguished gaming line by combining the excitement of first person action with the intellectual stimulation of tactics and attack planning - and the gameplay thrill of multi-player. More information can be found on SWAT 3 SE at http://www.swat3.com, relaunched today to bring gamers more information on the SWAT 3 franchise.

SWAT 3: SE will deliver the original 16 missions found in SWAT 3: CQB, plus six new missions and the long awaited multi-player capability. SWAT 3: SE will support up to ten players on a LAN or over the Internet, with technologies provided by the WON.net™ Internet gaming site http://www.won.net. The multi-player game will offer gamers several choices: create an alliance with the opposing team and attempt to complete overall objectives during a Co-Op game, play Death Match, or play a tournament style game in Competitive mode. Also included in SWAT 3: SE will be a proprietary level editor and skin editor, which will allow the player to create their own levels and customize their character and weapons. For those gamers who already own a copy of SWAT 3: CQB, Sierra has recently announced their multi-player add-on, SWAT™ 3: Battle Plan™.

"SWAT 3: SPECIAL EDITION allows gamers to experience the most authentic tactical simulation ever created with both single and multi-player capabilities," said Adam Fossa, product manager at Sierra Studios. "The new missions offer more of the original excitement by the strong team that developed SWAT 3: CQB™, wich was recently nominated for '1999 Action Game of the Year' by both Computer Gaming World and PC Gamer magazines."

Throughout both the new single and multi-player missions, the heart of the game is based on real life L.A.P.D. special weapons and tactics, just as in SWAT 3: CQB. Motion capture technology, cutting edge computer intelligence, a real-world physics engine, and the close cooperation of actual L.A.P.D. SWAT officers in development make this the most authentic tactical game ever. Photographic resources for faces and clothing help to create real world characters out of 3D models, while dynamic lighting coupled with environments built to scale with photographic resources make the SWAT 3 world extremely lifelike.
