Screensavers
Double-clicking on the screensaver file name will automatically download and install the screensaver to your computer. In order to activate the screensaver, you will have to go into your Control Panel, select Display, select Screensaver and then choose "Homeworld" from the drop-down list.

Theme Packs
The Homeworld theme packs include desktop wallpaper, icons, and sounds. Download the .zip file and extract the files into your Desktop Themes directory (i.e. C:\PROGRAM FILES\PLUS!\THEMES). Then launch the "Desktop Themes" selector/viewer from your Control Panel. Select the appropriate Homeworld theme from the drop down list and apply it.

These Desktop Themes require that your video display be set to high color mode (i.e. 16-bit or 24-bit). Also, please ensure that your Desktop Themes program is functioning properly first before loading these themes (i.e. test it by loading an existing theme you already have).

3-D Unit Viewer

Download Homeworld 3-D Unit Viewer

The Homeworld Unit Viewer is designed to give you data on the many ship types available within the game, from the smallest Scout vessel to the mighty Heavy Cruiser. A 3-D model of each ship is accompanied by a quick-reference of weapons and armor specifications, along with a brief history of the vessel's design and function.

Once you've downloaded and launched the Unit Viewer, use the mouse to zoom in on the rotating ship. Holding down the right mouse button and moving the mouse will turn the ship in any direction, while holding down both mouse buttons lets you zoom in and out. Clicking the Rotate button will stop the ship from automatically turning.

Using the Color Picker will let you customize the base (or Team) color of the ship, as well as the Stripe color. These colors will be saved each time you exit the viewer, in a file called ColorScheme.cfg, which can be found within the Ships folder of the Homeworld Unit Viewer directory. This file can be e-mailed to anyone with this unit viewer to organize armada colors, and it can be used to optimize your fleet color scheme within Homeworld once the game is released.

Finally, clicking on the Take Snapshot button lets you capture a screenshot of each ship. These screenshots appear as bitmap files within the Snapshots folder of the Homeworld Unit Viewer directory.

New ship models will be released regularly, so visit the Homeworld web site to download the latest units. Unzip the latest ship into your Ships folder in your Homeworld Unit Viewer directory.
